“Resonance itself is often more interesting to me than a well composed melody.” – Claudia Meza

Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s Time-Based Art Festival returns for its 10th year in 2012. TBA:12 promises to deliver a hard-hitting program of cutting-edge international performance and visual art.

This year, Kristan Kennedy, Visual Art Curator for P.I.C.A., has organized a thought provoking visual arts program entitled End Things. End Things can be seen at multiple venues this year, including Washington High School, P.I.C.A.’s new space in the West-End, and White Box at the University of Oregon in Portland.

Claudia Meza brings an interactive sound installation to the White Box as a featured visual artist for End Things during P.I.C.A’s Time-Based Art Festival 2012. She will also be screening several videos in our Gray Box media space.

Claudia Meza, a Portland-based artist and composer, is deeply involved in this year’s festival: from Water, an interactive audio installation and instrument at White Box, to a city wide sound experience (Sonic City PDX) and a residency at P.I.C.A.’s Resource Room.

As part of End Things, White Box will feature the mesmerizing resonance of Water, as well as video work by Meza and a unique portal to Sonic City PDX.

TBA:12 was an exhibition that ran from September 4 – September 22, 2012 and featured Claudia Meza’s Water, an interactive sound installation and series of video screening.
